I have a laptop and use dial-up link to Internet.When I try to use "Windows Update" as inStart... Help and Support... ... Pick a Task = Windows Updatethe Response is... Internet Connection is Required... ... and when I click Connectresponse is "there was a problem --- --- --- etc --- try again.For other I.E. I can access any Internet sites I want without problemso I feel my Internet DialUp link is functioning ok.Some guidnace please ? Regards, Frank Email removed for privacy

Have again tried the link as above without result.as in trying http://update.microsoft.com/I can get to any other sites I want without this problem.Am hoping there is someway I can run the Updates offered to Windows, Regards, Frank
